Types of Equestrian Building Cairn provides a complete service to our equestrian customers and as such we can install all groundworks with our in-house groundworks team helping to make your life easier.
  We organise everything for you meaning that you don’t need to search for a local groundworker for quotes and then try and co-ordinate them with the stable provider. We can apply this service to everything from a simple field shelter base through to the foundations for a steel portal frame.

Stables We offer a completely bespoke design service for all of our customers as we don't believe that a 'standard' stable suits every person. We will talk through your exact requirements, look at the site and propose design and materials options to you. If relevant we consider the planning issues before drafting a set of drawings for discussion.

We understand that budget is a key issue and we work with you from the outset to ensure that we work within your requirements and where possible we offer best value options to you.

Cairn draws from a wealth of experience and as such we can offer any type of construction from slate roofs and brick walls to corrugated sheeting and timber walls. No matter which material we work in, we always use top quality materials in our stables. All timber used is pressure treated for durability and all load bearing timber is structural grade and stamped accordingly.

   

Customers looking for something a little different can also select from a range of options including green oak exposed framing, a multitude of roof finishes and just about any level of internal fit out from the basic through to oak panelling.

 

Field Shelters Cairn can design and build any type of field shelter to any size and any specification. We can provide static or mobile shelters up to 24' x14' in size and provide extras such as hay barns, tack rooms and feed stores.
  Our mobile shelters are particularly useful where flexibility in position is required and where full planning permission isn't required. We can provide timber skids or where ultimate mobility is required, our bolted and welded metal skids come into their own – we even provide the tow chain.

We take a bespoke approach to all of our field shelters and stables to ensure that you get every feature and detail that is important to you at a price that matches your budget. As with our stables, we only use pressure treated timber throughout, with structural grade timber for all load bearing components.

Cairn also erects all of our shelters, no matter whereabouts in the UK you are – we believe that you should be riding horses, not playing with hammers and ladders!

Cairn Ultimate Field Shelters Some of our customers, particularly those operating commercial equestrian facilities, require a field shelter that is built to survive the harshest of conditions.
  The Cairn Ultimate Shelter is built using a substantial fully braced 4x2" structural frame clad vertically with 6x1" pressure treated timber boarding. Combined with 6x1" kickboarding internally, the shelter is extremely rigid and when combined with our steel skid base, provides a very portable and strong structure. Again, Cairn designs each shelter around the needs of our customers to ensure that your Cairn Ultimate Shelter is exactly that – the best you can buy at a price that is surprisingly affordable.

 

Menages and Arenas Cairn can plan, design and construct any type of menage and arena to suit your specific requirements. From a simple 40x20m menage to a full indoor 60x40m arena within a steel portal frame, we can do it all.
  Planning is often a major issue with menage and arena construction and we are able to manage the full process from pre-application discussions through to obtaining permission and discharging conditions. We manage planning internally to ensure that we retain full control and consult with you at every step and wherever a major decision is required.

Design and specification is critical. We visit each and every site to ensure that all aspects of design are considered properly from slope, topsoil thickness, drainage, services and lighting. We will discuss your requirements at length to ensure that we provide a top quality riding surface. We can work with any surfacing supplier and can recommend various surfaces to suit your needs and budget.

Construction and execution are key to providing a long lasting and well drained surface. We use our in-house groundworks team to build all of our menages and arenas to ensure that quality is built in from the very beginning.
